Trust before commission

Affiliate Disclosure

Our first responsibility is to recommend only what may genuinely help a visitor. A financial relationship never buys inclusion, praise, placement, or silence.

The short version

Some clearly marked links are affiliate links. If you use one and make a qualifying purchase, Leave One Light On may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.

How recommendations are chosen

Editorial fit, usefulness, accuracy, dignity, accessibility, audience need, and stewardship come first. Commission availability and commission rate are excluded from editorial scoring. We may recommend resources that pay no commission, and we may decline resources that do.

How links are identified

Every commission-eligible link is labeled “Affiliate link” beside the recommendation. This full policy supplements—not replaces—the disclosure shown near those links.

Amazon and InkFluence

Amazon Associates links may be active after configuration review. Clean InkFluence publisher links are present, but InkFluence commission tracking remains disabled until Ted’s exact associate link and current terms are verified.

Click measurement and privacy

We count aggregate resource-link clicks to understand whether visitors can find useful next steps. The proposed event does not require a name, email address, donation amount, precise location, or sensitive child-welfare information. Do not deploy tracking until it has passed the site’s privacy and consent review.

Questions or corrections

If a recommendation, relationship, disclosure, or link seems unclear, please tell us. We would rather correct the record than protect a commission.
