Leave One Light On grew from a true story of welcome. It now invites all of us to make hope visible through simple acts of compassion.
The beginning
Someone left a light on for Ted.
At thirteen, Ted Johnson arrived at the home of Jerry and Peg Gorman. They opened their door and made room for him. Their compassion became a lasting picture of what it means to offer safety, belonging, and hope.
The book tells that story. This movement asks what each of us can do next.
Vision
Build communities of hope.
Create communities where leaving one light on becomes a recognized expression of hope, compassion, and love for one’s neighbor.
